UKG Field trip to Farm house

UKG children were taken to a field trip on 16th March 2016 to ‘Cavin's Solai’, a Farm house in Injambakkam.  Children assembled in their respective classrooms and boarded the School buses. On boarding the buses, they excitedly sang rhymes and songs enroute to the farm.  When the buses reached the destination, the children were waiting to find out what was in store for them.  As soon as they entered the gates, they were welcomed by the greenery and chirping sounds of the birds in the farm.  The staff of ‘Cavins Solai’ guided the children of Upper Kindergarten and showed them a variety of birds in the farm.  Some of the birds they saw were:  Red, Orange and Blue necked Macaw, Umbrella headed Cockatoo, Black and White swans, Peacocks and Peafowls. The rare sight of the Cotton topped monkey jumping around in its cage added to the tiny tots’ delight.  The visit to the Aviary was a novel experience for the children and they could gain a close up view of different kinds of Peacocks and Cockatoos.  The Cockatoo’s ‘Hello hello’ kept ringing in their ears even after they left the Aviary.  The view from the Tree house was enhanced by their enthusiastic chatter and questions which were aplenty.  As soon as they got down from the Tree house they were greeted by brown and black ponies that were strolling around in the lawn.  The little ponies with tufts of hair on their head and legs were a treat for the little ones’ eyes. Some children remarked that they resembled a lion.  Near the lawn the children had their refreshments and shared their experience with their friends.  They boarded the School bus as it was time to head back to School.  It was a day well spent with lots of memories and moments to carry home.
