STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAMME TO  GUILDFORD GRAMMAR SCHOOL, AUSTRALIA

Bala Vidya Mandir organised a Student Exchange Programme in which 12 students from class VIII had an opportunity to make a trip to Guildford Grammar School, Australia. They were accompanied by two teachers, Mrs. Saraswathi and Mr. P. Premnath. The programme lasted for a week. Arrangements were made for the students to stay in the homes of their Australian school buddies. During this period the students undertook various activities. The objective of this study tour was to introduce Perth as an education destination, familiarise them with Perth institutions and exchange ideas and information about the culture. Guildford  Grammar school’s teaching methodology focuses on gaining more practical knowledge through hands on experiments.

During the weekend the students were taken on a tour around Perth. They visited  Caversham Wildlife park and a Chocolate factory. The students had a very good learning exposure  and  memorable  experiences with their host families. On the return journey, the students spent two days in Singapore and visited the Sentosa Island, Jurong Bird Park, Underwater World, City Rider and a Buddhist temple. On the whole, it was a remarkable experience for the children who learnt to be responsible and independent. The valuable interactions and experiences of the students and teachers were shared with their peers on their return.
