Science Expo - 2018

The twenty fifth Science expo Of Bala Vidya Mandir was held on 11th August 2018 in Vidyapeet , auditorium. The class IX students took  initiative , co-ordinated and conducted the event in the best manner. The inauguration was done traditionally by lighting the kuthuvilakku. Our Principal gave an inspirational speech on the development in various fields of science and importance of broadening our horizontal thinking. The events took place in various venues. Game Masti was a computer based program. Students were judged based on their animation skill, time limit and flow of program
Another exciting event was Trash to treasure in which students had to show their talent how to make the best out of waste within a time limit of 90 minutes. Students used materials like plastic water bottles to make attractive wall hangings and paper cups to make flower vases.

The concept of architecture was also incorporated in the Expo. The central idea of pocket park designing was to design a miniature public park which was visualised to be built on waste land. Students were made to present an aerial view as well as a floor plan of their project.

One of the most sought out after events was the project display. Students from various schools displayed their projects in the VidyaPeet auditorium with great pride and enthusiasm. Some of the topics include bio plastics, transgenic plants, fire prevention systems on the concepts of physical science and life science.

The students explained their projects with innovative models and colourful charts. The quiz was the most challenging of all events. The participants had to attend twenty questions on a variety of topics, some of which included astronomy, material sciences and biology in an hour’s times.

The twenty-two teams participating had a bit of a struggle answering the questions but the quiz master assisted them by providing hints. The successful teams moved on to the finals, where they had to pass five rounds to bag the prize.
To sum the events,   our honourable chief guest , DR.R.VASUKI, spoke with kind and encouraging words. Prizes were distributed to both the participants and winners by the chief guest.

The overall winner of this year is Kola Perumal  Chetty school by securing maximum points.
The students are looking forward to hosting many more successful events like THIS ONE!
