SCHOOL EXCHANGE PROGRAM TO BENDEMEER SECONDARY SCHOOL,SINGAPORE

 

21 Students and 6 Staff of Bendemeer High School, Singapore, visited Bala Vidya Mandir on 11th and 12th November 2019. They were welcomed with the school band and greeted traditionally with kumkum, Chandan,rose water and roses.
The Principal welcomed the students and staff and an ice-breaking session was conducted by the Class IX students. The students of Bendemeer School interacted with BVM students through games. The students of BVM presented a PowerPoint about the school, the holistic way of education, the clubs and extracurricular activities providing them a brief insight about the school. Presentations were also given by the students of Bendemeer school, highlighting the history of Singapore, their Education System and Water Management System.
 A talk was given by the Principal, Dr.R.Srinivasa Raghavan, which the Bendemeerians found to be very innovative and interesting. They attended the classroom sessions followed by a visit to the Inno Laboratory, a place where they had an experiential learning in Science. Later, a YE class was conducted, where they were taught to make their own art work on canvas using simple techniques. Day 1 ended marking the beginning of new friendship.
On the 2nd day of their visit, the Bendemeer students and staff attended a session on music by Global Rhythm along with the students of classes 6-9. Later, a friendly basketball match was conducted between students of both schools.
After a sumptuous lunch, they had classroom interactions which was followed by a Cookery class where the students were taught to make Paneer Kati Rolls. This was followed by an enjoyable session at the Robotics Laboratory.
Day 2 ended with a ‘happiness sharing’ session. Students of both schools shared their experiences of the two days. Staff and students of Bendemeer School received mementoes and certificates from the Principal and Vice Principal. 
At 4.00 p.m. the programme came to an end and it was time to say good-bye. Bala Vidya Mandir provided a wonderful opportunity, to their students to meet a bunch of passionate, helpful, compassionate and fun loving students of Bendemeer School, Singapore. It was truly an enriching experience on both sides.
